Renovations of the Our Lady of Mercy Church continue! The HVAC replacement is complete, with the outdoor units on much higher, more stable stands that prior to Milton. Most recently, the pews were removed this past Tuesday for complete renovation. We are looking forward to the fine work of the restoration craftspersons to be complete and pews returned by June. In the meantime, work proceeds on the open space. The floor tiles will be deep cleaned, re-grouted and restored to their condition prior to the storm (or better!). The baseboards, which have been greatly damaged, will be restored. The altar and other natural surfaces will continue to receive renovations of disinfecting and deep cleaning. Preparations are being made for the installation of the new organ, which is under construction as of the writing of this news!
As a parish, we are deeply grateful for the blessings of everyone involved in the renovation of our church - those who volunteer their time, talent and treasure, as well as the many professionals and craftspersons plying their trades to restore our parish to its home. Many thanks!
In the meantime, thanks to the blessings and efforts of those who built our Parish Life Center, mass continues unabated in that beautiful space. Most recently, the stations of the cross were hung. This is in addition to the other touches constantly being added to make our temporary location of worship as welcoming and meaningful as possible for our community.
